Lao training participants arrived in Weiherhammer

As part of their cooperation, BHS Corrugated invited trainers and apprentices of the Lao-German Technical College in Vientiane, to take part in further trainings for several weeks in Weiherhammer. The group arrived on Sunday 01 July; the next day on Monday 02 July started with a guided tour in the factory premises BHS Corrugated and the ÜBZO in Weiherhammer. The group was joined by accountant and secretary of the foundation Angels for Children, Mrs. Bouangeun Hanthavong together with her husband Boontee and their son Thonee, who are currently in Germany too. Until the end of August the trainers and apprentices will gain deep insights in the German dual training system, modern didactics and methods in vocational training and the usage of modern machines and techniques in the ÜBZO and the production and assembly facilities of BHS Corrugated. Sharing experiences and transferring know-how on the intercompany training model is the superior goal of the training measures designed by the ÜBZO.

The “Recruitment and Training Programm” is a joint project of BHS Corrugated and the Lao-German Technical College, funded in behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. Within the project graduates of the schools supported by Angels for Children get the opportunity to begin triennial vocational training courses in the electrical and mechanical field at the Lao-German Technical free of charge. More than 15 local Lao companies, customers and subsidiaries of BHS Corrugated in Asia take part in the project, offering company apprenticeships. More than 80 apprentices in two batches are taking part in the project since the start in September 2016. The first batch will finish training in June 2019.
